About the Guildford vet

We are an independently owned, family run, small animal veterinary clinic based in Guildford. We provide the highest standard of veterinary care in a professional and friendly environment.

Here at The Guildford Vet, we understand and value the relationship you have with your pets. Lead veterinary surgeon Rob, and the experienced team are committed to delivering high quality healthcare with a personal touch, that exceeds your expectations. We ensure that your pets stay healthy, and therefore most importantly, happy.

About us

We are one of the very few first opinion practices in Surrey to offer our own in-house, out of hours service. We offer appointments later into the evenings, on Saturdays and Sundays, at the standard consultation price. We will always see urgent patients on the same day, and are available for advice in person or over the telephone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We provide an exceptional standard of veterinary care to our patients and clients, in a professional yet personal manner – by delivering accurate diagnostics, compassionate treatment of animals, and client communication, whilst maintaining a pleasant and safe working environment. We treat each and every pet that we care for as we would treat our own.

Our Story

The Guildford Vet practice was established in Summer 2022 by Rob, Amber, Chris, and Lucy. Prior to this the site became a vets in the late 1970s. We have since undertaken a total refurbishment of the surgery, and have introduced new equipment, surgical techniques and improved parking. We are all excited by this new venture and aim to provide you and your pets with the best experience possible.

Rob pledges to cultivate a traditional, friendly ethos whilst still driving the business forward technologically and aesthetically. We will also be providing in house 24/7 care to deliver you the very best service.

Marian C

"Have visited with my dog Bentley a few times, and every time have received a welcome reception and felt Rob cares for your animal as if it were his own. Feels so lovely to have a vets that will do what is best by your animal and feel at ease that my boy is in the best hands with a vets I can trust. They go above and beyond. Every staff member I have had an encounter with has been lovely and really pleased I registered. Thank you so much!"

Zoe P

"Friendly and professional, reasonable pricing"

Ian C

"We are so happy to have found a vet we trust and who is so kind towards our dogs. We've now been in to see Rob multiple times and have always left feeling listened too and confident in the treatment plan (which was becoming a thing of the past at our previous vets). Rob's caring nature is so refreshing and we've always left with very happy pups! Appointments are so easy to book, we've always been offered an appointment the same day and we've even had to use the out of hours service which we can't recommend enough! Being able to see your own vet who you both trust during a stressful time is just amazing. Thank you Rob and all of your team."

Katie B

"I have just registered at this veterinary surgery and I must say that the experience is one of the best I have ever had - Rob is very responsive and caring of your pets well-being. He will respond all hours via the app and very caring and considerate when seeing your pet 10 out of 10 for this chap!"

Marie P

"Lovely environment and staff very friendly with a nervous dog it was the best experience we have ever had at the vets"

Kate P

"Lovely staff and really well done up clinic - Hector and Olive leave with their tails wagging!"

Francesca W

"...Rob was fantastic with our Westie and took the time to find out what had been happening to try and understand what could be causing the issue. Rob prescribed steroid medication and arranged weekly check in's to ensure all was going ok. Well it worked and our Westie was back to himself within a matter of days with no issues since. Rob saved us thousands of pounds...and we will be forever grateful to Rob and cannot thank him enough. Go see him and his wonderful welcoming team. The practice is beautiful too with a real homely feel to it. We have now moved up to the Northwest of the UK and just hope our next vets will be as good"

Glen D

"First visit today with one of my Dachshunds for health & medication review. A warm welcome for us both, including a very welcome cup of tea. Rob was very gentle with her and interested in her history. Gave her a thorough check up. The practice is immaculately clean and tidy and the team are all friendly and caring. A very pleasant experience"

Karen R

"Highly recommend The Guildford Vet! Rob has been brilliant with our dog Ted, who in the past has been very nervous at the vet. Rob is very knowledgeable and caring, and really responsive with questions pre and post appointments. The practice is beautifully decorated to make everyone feel at ease and the whole team is warm and friendly - it’s a lovely experience. Having recently moved to the area, we’re thrilled to have found The Guildford Vet"

Emma W

"Had just registered my dog with this practice when he suddenly needed a dew claw dealt with. Rob was very professional and is passionate about his work. Couldn't have asked for anything better the way he was looked after. Thank you Rob and your great team".

Tanya C

"I’m so glad I moved vets. I feel so comfortable bringing my pup here. Rob has helped so much. Always friendly and understanding and always there to help and advise. Thank you"

Siobhan P

"This place is special. An honest caring vet, reasonably priced unlike some of the large chain vets out there that only seem to treat you as a number or a paycheque. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Can't praise this place enough"

William H

"Our Burmese cats had serious health issues a month apart from one another, and on both occasions I took them to the Guildford Vet. I'm happy to report my experience was excellent. 5 stars. The staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. The vet went to great pains explaining the diagnosis on both occasions, and today our Burmese brothers are happy and well. I highly recommend this practice"

Derek B

"Sensational service, staff and care. I've been searching for a good independent vet for long time and I am over the moon now we've found The Guilford Vet"

Tom B

"Wow these guys are amazing. Such a lovely team, Rob is so understanding, we have a nervous aggressive big dog, who needs sedation before we even get to the vets. The staff are fully aware and treated her with great care. We can not thank you enough. Highly recommended"

Emma M

"... Rob was very good and understanding with Bandit, who was abused for the first 18 months of his life so wary of strangers, especially men, and despite Bandits' nerves, Rob took his time and made the effort to put him at ease. The nurse who helped when Bandits' blood was taken was friendly and great with him, as is the lady on Reception. Little things like being offered tea or coffee are nice extras, but the attention to the care and well-being of your pet(s) is second to none. I would recommend without a moments hesitation the Guildford Vet..."

Tay-Jarl A

"So pleased I found this vet. Rob and all the staff are so lovely and caring. They took wonderful care of my dog and I can't praise them enough."

Sharon E

"I cannot thank this veterinary clinic enough for the amazing care they provided to my dog...the staff went above and beyond to ensure that my dog received the best possible treatment. The veterinarian who assisted us was extremely knowledgeable. He listened patiently to my concerns and thoroughly examined my dog to diagnose the problem. He explained everything in detail. The staff at the clinic were exceptional. The prices are really reasonable too."

Marie H
