Our experienced team provides comprehensive, preventative and emergency care for all small animals, primarily dogs and cats. We are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
At The Guildford Vet, we offer a full range of in-house surgery, often without the need for referral to external specialist centres. This helps your pet recover quickly, as it greatly reduces stress for them by being able to be treated under just one roof.
On site we have advanced facilities including; diagnostic imaging, digital radiography, endoscopy, laparoscopy (keyhole surgery) ultrasound and state of the art in house blood analysis. Find out more about our full list of services below.
To make your visit as easy as possible, our staff are happy to assist in carrying pets in and out of the surgery. We have 5 dedicated free client parking spaces at the rear of the practice, as well as good parking on the surrounding roads. View the contact page for directions.
Vaccinations
Vaccinations
Vaccines have long been an important part of preventative medicine, both in humans and in pets. By giving a pet a controlled amount of vaccine, the pet’s immune system can prepare itself and be ready for the day if and when the real disease arrives to infect them.
Dental Care
Dental Care
Dental health is often an overlooked issue in dog and cats. It is estimated that 85% of dogs and cats over the age of three years of age will have some degree of dental disease. Here at The Guildford Vet, we believe helping owners understand the impact dental health can have on your pet’s overall health is important. We can where necessary perform dental scale and polish procedures in house, and carry out any necessary tooth extractions to help restore your pet’s dental health.
Microchipping
Microchipping
Since 06 April 2016, it is a legal requirement for all dogs to be microchipped in England and this will likely soon be expanded to include all cats. We strongly advise all pets be microchipped, even those that are kept indoors. If your pet gets lost or sadly taken without a microchip, it is very unlikely they will be found and returned to you safely.
Neutering
Neutering
We routinely perform surgical and chemical neutering including laparoscopic bitch speys. Female dogs can be neutered before their first season from 6 months of age or alternatively 3 months after a season. Early neutering of female dogs reduces the risk of mammary tumours and removes the risk of developing pyometra later in life.

Pet Health Care Plans
Laparoscopy
Laparoscopy
Here at The Guildford Vet we pride ourselves on delivering the highest standards of treatment and care to every pet we see. Veterinary medicine is advancing all the time, and while we stay abreast of all the latest innovations, we also know that sometimes the old ways are the best! So you can be assured that we only ever introduce new techniques when we know that they deliver significantly better care for your pet. Laparoscopic (better known as ‘keyhole’) surgery is one such example.
Orthopaedics
Orthopaedics
We have coupled up with Provetsurg, a peripatetic referral orthopaedic service headed by Nicci Meadows. This allows us to offer the highest standard of orthopaedic surgery in house. ProVetSurg provides an accessible in-house referral surgical service by certified surgical advanced practitioners. This enables clients to remain close to home, and pets to be treated in a familiar environment with vets and nurses that they already know. Surgical fees aim to be affordable for a wide range of clients.

When requesting more medication or food please give us at least 24 hours notice. The main reason for this is to allow us time to check whether the item is in stock, if it isn’t we can order it to arrive the next day and dispense it.
